The Department of Clinical & Biomedical Sciences (CBS) alongside Devon Partnership Trust, isseekingto recruit a ClinicalConsultantSenior Lecturer/AssociateProfessor/Professor in Biological Psychiatry(level of appointment dependent on experience).
The role
This is a strategicallyimportant positionfor the Department and Medical School as weseekto expand capacity in translational mental health and neuroscience, strengthen clinical links with local NHS trusts across the South-West peninsula and build on our international reputation in mental health,neuroscienceand genomics research.
Main duties of the job
We are particularly interested in psychiatrists workingin the area ofsevere mental illness (e.g.schizophrenia, psychosis, major depression,childand adolescent mental health) who can work alongside our world-leading scientists working in basic neuroscience, cell biology,neurogenomicsand data science. The successful applicant will work closely with the NIHR-funded Exeter Biomedical Research Centre to build our capacity in translational psychiatry.
We are looking for a leading or emerging(depending on grade)international figure with the ability to attract world-class academics to their research group. Applicants will be innovative researchers with a top-flighttrack recordof research funding and international quality publications.More juniorapplicantsshould have demonstrable potential to attract significant research funding.
As a key strategic appointment, we will offer a competitive package, supported by a start-up fund, to ensure that the successful applicant can create a transformative translational clinical research programme at the University of Exeter.
