Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will be joining a small, collegial team of Senior Clinical Tutors, with excellent administrative and management support within the Medical Education Centre. We work closely together, taking responsibility for delivery, oversight and logistics of all clinical student placements in North Devon. This means continually developing, monitoring and tweaking timetables, responding to feedback from students and educators; supporting funding following the students to their placement posts; and supporting all the clinicians in the organisation who deliver student education. We are committed to continuously improving the educational opportunities and overall experience for medical students on placement in North Devon. The post is both strategic and operational. Operationally this means helping out with assessments, directly supporting the clinical programme in Devon when needed, providing students with remediation and signposting them to support services as required.
There is significant change to the current UEMS year 3 and 4 placement provision planned for 2025-2027, which will give the North Devon team opportunity to further support medical student education within UEMS. The team believe this is an exciting time to get involved, with real scope for innovation and further development of student educational provision in North Devon.
