Job summary

The above full-time (1.0 FTE) post is available immediately on a fixed-term (until the end of April 2027) basis (in the first instance, subject to future grant funding) in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campusand some from home.

Main duties of the job

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Physiotherapy Research Fellow to support the delivery of a national clinical trial investigating rehabilitation after proximal humerus fractures (the REACH trial). Further information on the trial is available here:https://fundingawards.nihr.ac.uk/award/NIHR153139

This NIHR-funded post is available immediately, and for a total of 39 months in the first instance (subject to future research funding). The successful applicant will primarily lead the intervention training and monitoring, supporting NHS hospital teams collaborating on the study. For suitable and interested candidates, opportunities to undertake a doctorate embedded within the trial will be considered.

The post will include leading training sessions with clinical team and assessing intervention delivery remotely and in person at the recruiting centres. Development of patient and clinician facing resources will also be a critical part of the role.

  • Co-ordinating the work of colleagues to ensure equitable access to resources and facilities;
  • Dealing with standard problems and help colleagues to resolve their concerns about progress in research.
3. To routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media and to present the results of scientific research to sponsors and at conferences. 4. As determined by the nature of the project and at the direction of the PI, to plan, co-ordinate and implement research programme activity including: Managing the use of research resources and ensuring that effective use is made of them.
