Job summary

Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria have entered into a partnership to form the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM), based at the University of Cumbria at the Carlisle Fusehill street campus.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Module Leads, Head of Curriculum Development and other subject leads, you will develop, coordinate and deliver learning opportunities to support students develop the knowledge and skills required in Paediatrics for the Medical Licensing Assessment and their future clinical practice.

Working with the Head of Assessments, you will develop and deliver formative and summative assessment materials that align with learning outcomes, enabling students to monitor their own learning and preparing them effectively for key summative assessments, such as the Clinical and Professional skills assessment. The curriculum is being designed collaboratively with academic and clinical colleagues to address the vision and aims of the School, and the unique opportunities and challenges of delivery across Cumbria.

A primary medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) full GMC registration and Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Clinically active, working as a Consultant, ST6 or SAS doctor

Evidence of effective teaching in Paediatrics through a range of teaching styles and formats.

Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills

Ability to role-model the professional values and behaviours expected of medical professionals
