Job summary

Imperial College London is the only UK university to focus entirely on science, engineering, medicine and business. The Imperial College MBBS programme consists of three Phases. Phase 1 comprises integrated clinical and scientific medicine, Phase 2 see students take an intercalated BSc, and Phase 3 is dedicated to preparation for clinical practice. The curriculum is characterised by early exposure to clinical practice from Phase 1.

Main duties of the job

* Use your clinical and educational expertise and experience to develop and deliver an evaluation modelto assess, maintain and enhance quality assurance in partner clinical sites, using an evidenced based approach. * Maintain project documentation and appropriate records to demonstrate, deliver and evaluate against project aims and outcomes. * Facilitate constructive collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders including students, alumni, accrediting bodies and employers. * Work with the Department of Primary Care Undergraduate Teaching, HEE Training Hub leads, Primary Care Network Education Leads and senior faculty to support and implement an evaluation of the effectiveness of the changes, ensuring that this informs continued improvement and potentially contributes to the wider disciplinary literature on medical education.

About us

Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM) places its medical students in a wide variety of Primary Care clinical learning environments throughout the 6-year programme. The Quality Assurance cycle for medical student clinical placements at partner hospital trusts is well established and provides a wide range and high standards of evidence to assure the medical school and its regulators of the quality of teaching and learning provision. We are seeking to develop a new Quality Assurance cycle for primary care clinical placements.

About the role Imperial College School of Medicine is seeking to continually improve its quality assurance model for the MBBS programme. We are seeking a quality minded health care professional to work as part of an effective and cohesive academic and professional services team to further improve our QA model. We work collaboratively across the Medical School, the Department of Primary Care and with our NHS and GP colleagues in the community. Our aim is to maintain the highest standards of undergraduate clinical education within primary care. This model may be extended to include other healthcare settings and NGO placements as required. What you would be doing Working as part of a team you will contribute to planning and implementing a detailed analysis of our existing Quality Assurance cycles for Primary and Secondary Care clinical placements. As a team we will review recommended improvements against established good practice and desired outcomes. Additionally, you will contribute to teaching activity on the MBBS programme which will be commensurate with your clinical skills and experience. The role will require you to develop and maintain project documentation and appropriate records to demonstrate, deliver and evaluate against agreed project aims and outcomes. To achieve this, you will facilitate constructive collaboration with a broad range of partners including students, alumni, accrediting bodies, and employers. You will also work with the Department of Primary Care, NHS WT&E Training Hub, Primary Care Network, and senior faculty to support and implement an evaluation of the effectiveness of the changes, ensuring that this informs continued improvement and, where appropriate, contribute to the wider disciplinary literature on medical education.
