Job summary

We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Research Fellow to work on projects in memory and cognition including Alzheimer's Disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. We are looking for highly motivated junior doctors who would like to gain experience in research to pursue their career in neurology, psychiatry, and general medicine with a research focus.

Main duties of the job

* To undertake research studies, contributing to ongoing studies and developing new studies in discussion with Prof Edison * To undertake appropriate clinical evaluation of the patients and other tasks for effective running of the research * To participate in data analysis, manuscript writing (both original research and review) and publications. * To attend research meetings and seminars within the group and at scientific conferences * To undertake any necessary training and/or development * To plan and help with the writing of future research proposals for funding and fellowship applications under the direction of Prof Edison

About us

You will be supervised by Professor Paul Edison (https://profiles.imperial.ac.uk/paul.edison), who leads the Imperial Memory Research Centre ((https://imperialcollegememoryresearchcentre.com) within the Department of Brain Sciences. The Centre evaluates neuroinflammation and other neurodegenerative process such as synaptic function, mitochondrial function, amyloid and tau and structural functional changes in neurodegeneration using PET, MRI and CSF markers, and involves both basic and translational imaging. You will take an active role in the research studies in Professor Edison's laboratory, helping to recruit and cognitively assess patients and coordinate patient care. You will also get the opportunity to plan and write future proposals for funding, as well as your own fellowship application.

What we are looking for You should have a degree in medicine (MBBS) and have GMC registration. You should have clinical experience in a relevant discipline, such as neurology or general medicine. You should be well-organised and experienced of problem solving in research projects. Experience in administering relevant neurology symptom-related questionnaires is desirable but not essential.
