Job summary
You will
primarily work on the delivery of the PANORAMIC trial that is delivered in the
primary care setting, contacting trial participants, ensuring safety monitoring
is carried out to the highest standards. The maintenance of accurate and
comprehensive records is an essential aspect of this post.
PANORAMIC is a national trial of Covid-19 treatments in the
community, which aims to reduce recovery time and prevent hospital admission.
You will be based at the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU), Churchill
Hospital site, OX3 7LE You
may also be asked to support other Respiratory trials run by ORTU.
Main duties of the job
Plan and coordinate your day-to-day work in
collaboration with the management team.
In collaboration with the Research Team, undertake study procedures
required and in line with the research protocol
Identify, screen and recruit participants into clinical trials according
to the inclusion and exclusion criteria set out through study protocols, whilst
adhering to local and national approvals
Manage a caseload of people who have consented to participate in
certain studies.
Input to recruitment strategies.
Support and assist in the development
of action plans as required.
Support the Trial Team in the event of inspection from a regulatory
and/or monitoring authority.
Ensure that patients are advised and understand fully all the details
of the trial extend this information to both family members and treating
clinicians as appropriate dependant on the study.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Refer to other specialists as required in order to provide optimal patient
care.
Work according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and research governance
standards for all aspects of work within Trials Unit.
Support studies running across the department as needed.
Ensure that clinical trial records and case report forms are accurately
maintained.
Communicate effectively with the rest of the study team and
patients/carers.
Keep up to date with departmental, Trust, NHS, and EU developments for
the management of clinical research.
