The University of Worcester is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Practice Education Facilitators to join our innovative School of Nursing and Midwifery. Main duties of the job

As a Practice Education Facilitator, you will act as a key liaison between the University, students, and practice partners. You will:

  • Maintain regular communication with practice assessors, supervisors, academic assessors, and students.
  • Monitor placement quality and support audits to ensure compliance with NMC standards.
  • Assist in onboarding new placements to expand capacity.
  • Support students in linking theory to practice, identifying learning opportunities, and preparing for placements.
  • Provide timely and empathetic support during placements and contribute feedback to course teams.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training for practice assessors and supervisors.
  • Act as a personal academic tutor and academic assessor.

This role requires flexibility, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekend work, as well as travel to placement sites.

Job responsibilities

1. Maintain regular communication with and act as a resource for, practice assessors, supervisors, academic assessors, facilitators / educators, and students / apprentices to share routine information.

2. Work collaboratively with course teams, placement support team, and external partners to ensure concerns are managed promptly to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.

3. Monitor placement quality using established checklists / evaluations and report concerns / propose solutions to the Practice Lead.

4. Support Practice Learning Environment audits by providing information and completing standard forms in accordance with university policy and school procedures and assist in the onboarding of new placements to expand placement capacity.

5. Facilitate communication regarding student progress, assessments, and reasonable adjustments referring concerns to the appropriate university contact.

6. Attend Practice Facilitator meetings to review evaluations, audits, and action plans.

7. Support students / apprentices in linking theory to practice by Identifying learning opportunities, promoting self-reflection, assisting in placement preparation in collaboration with course teams and placement staff and support assessment requirements. e.g. use of Practice Assessment Documents.

8. Visit placement areas and meet students and Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors in the clinical setting, providing timely and empathetic support to students / apprentices throughout their placement experience, referring to Student Services, Personal Academic Tutor / Academic Assessor as appropriate.

9. Provide feedback to course teams on placement experiences to contribute to curriculum planning.

10. Act as a personal academic tutor and academic assessor.

11. Assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of preparation for practice assessors, supervisors, and academic assessors under the supervision of, and in partnership with, the university lead / Practice Lead.

12. Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job; participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.

13. Take steps to ensure and enhance personal health, safety, and well-being and that of other staff and students.
