Job summary
NHS England is looking to appoint a Foundation Training Programme Director with responsibility for the overall management and oversight of education and training of Foundation Placements in Psychiatry Placements across the three West Midlands Foundation Schools (North, South and Central).
The FoundationProgrammeis responsible forapproximately 1,300 trainees in the West Midlands. The post would be an ideal opportunity for an experiencedEducational Supervisoraiming to develop their skills and further enhance their educational portfolio.
The post attracts 1.5PA which will be reimbursed to the successful candidate's employing Trust at £10,000 (pro rata) and it isanticipatedthat someadditionalSPA time will berequiredIt is expected that Foundation Training Programme Directors continue in practice while fulfilling the role. The post will be offered until 31st March 2027.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant,will work with the local lead educators to ensure that each psychiatry placement of theprogramme and theprogrammeas a whole meetsthe Local NHSE standard for training and that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences in psychiatry which will enable them to gain the capabilities necessary for full registration and completion of the foundation curriculum.
The post holder will ensure that Psychiatry Foundation Supervisors are appropriately trained, keep their training up todateand ensure the quality of placements. Further details can be found within the job description.
