Job summary
The East of England Primary Care School (part of the Workforce, Training and Education Directorate of NHS England) are looking for enthusiastic and innovative educators to join the team as GP Training Programme Directors.
This particular post is advertised to support the existing GP training programmes most impacted by recent and upcoming training placement expansion. The successful applicants will work together with the existing GP TPDs in their respectice programmes, the Assocaite Dean and the wider Primary Care School Team
The office base will be in Cambridge however, successful applicants will be expected to travel to the local trust aligned to the respective training programme.
Posts will be offered as follows:
- Basildon x 1 session
- Harlow x 1 session
- Ipswich x 1 session
- Luton x 1 session
- Peterborough x 1 session
- Southend x 1 session

Main duties of the job
TPDs are professionally and managerially accountable to the Associate Deans and Head of School for General Practice and through the Deputy Dean to the Postgraduate Dean.
Postholders will focus upon ensuring quality learning experiences for Resident Doctors in General Practice training with the region through the improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.
The post holder is a key member of the team working with Post Graduate Doctors in Training who are appointed to GP training programmes within the east of England.
The postholder will be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and may be expected to carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.
