Main duties of the job

We're seeking a dynamic Technical Integration Director to champion collaboration across Technical Services and the wider New Hospital Programme . This pivotal role ensures strategic priorities are delivered with precision, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and review the Technical Services strategy and Integrated Plan
  • Develop and embed commissioning strategies and continuous improvement frameworks
  • Lead performance monitoring and collaboration with Health Delivery Partners (HDP)
  • Oversee delivery of H2A task orders and manage key stakeholder relationships
  • Drive organisational development and cross-functional integration across NHP
  • Select and implement tools for data flow and risk management

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Professional certifications in relevant areas such as project management, sustainability, or healthcare design/building standards

Desirable

  • Membership in professional organisations related to architecture, engineering, construction, or healthcare design and construction, such as the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Delivery of large-scale organisation change and improvement across the private or public sector
  • Technical experience (systems integration, technical design and assurance) in the Manufacturing and Infrastructure industry
  • Significant experience in programme management and structuring the delivery of complex work
  • Senior leadership experience in a large and complex environment.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of strategic planning and prioritisation.
  • Senior level technical knowledge and experience of advising on technical design and assurance options and approaches
  • Successful track record of delivery of proactive stakeholder engagement with evidence of measurable impact, especially at the board and C-Suite level
  • National-level policy, standards and guidance development across large scale complex organisations or sectors
  • Knowledge of the legal and governance framework of the NHS.

Desirable

  • Technical (systems integration, technical design and assurance) experience in the public sector.
  • Technical experience in large scale transformation programmes.
  • Experience and understanding of the health economy and NHSE ecosystem.
  • Understanding of the parliamentary process
