Job summary
NHS England is seeking to appoint aDeputy Foundation School Director working across the Trent Foundation school.
Applicants must be currently working within the East Midlands area at consultant level or equivalent in the specialty school area. Experience within the specialty at consultant level is essential as is considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Foundation School Directors andNHS England teams, you will contribute to the improvement Training experience by working on various projects and workstreams. This include reviewing the quality of the newly created and existing posts, supporting and reviewing the SFP Leadership posts and reviewing and refreshing the Foundation webpages.
You will support the Foundation School Directors with the overall quality, management and supervision of the programme, ensuring all programmes meet the standards defined by NHSE, the GMC and UKFPO.
You will deputise for the FSD in operational running of the Foundation School. You will work closely with NHS England's senior educators including the Deputy Postgraduate Dean, Trent Foundation School Director, Foundation Training Programme Directors and Directors of Medical Education to ensure that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enable them to cover the Foundation Programme Curriculum.
You will be expected to maintain a clinical commitment. It is essential that you have a medical degree, membership/fellowship of the relevant Royal College/Faculty and have a current substantive contract as an NHS Consultant in a relevant specialty. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering/managing education and training at a senior level and experience of foundation programme as a minimum.
