Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen on a permanent basis for an Administrative Support Worker (Access to Work).

As an Administrative Support Worker, you will support two to three people with a learning disability in their roles, in an empowering way, on a one-to-one basis, as well as in group situations.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties

Working with members of staff with a learning disability, or who have a learning disability and are autistic, in an empowering way to support with:

Practical and administrative tasks such as email, diary management and working with organisational systems

Planning, organisation and time management techniques

Job-specific tasks, e.g. written correspondence, presentations, producing social media and public facing NHS content

Practical tasks, efficient working, preparation for meetings

Understanding and respecting the boundaries of workplace communication and social relationships

Techniques for managing long meetings

Supporting the person to attend and be in meetings

Recording time spent on different tasks to report back to Access to Work

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher. Job responsibilities

The post holder will provide support with a range of practical and administrative tasks online, working from home and in the Leeds office, and occasionally at other NHS locations.

This may include planning, meeting preparation and attendance, support with organisation and time management, reading and organising emails and some job specific tasks.

Whilst the role offers practical support, there is also a need to understand peoples mental health and well-being.

The work can be done flexibly, depending on the need and working patterns of the people you will support. (Generally between 9am to 3pm)

The hours can also be split over two people or as a job share.

There is also a need for some ad hoc additional hours as a travel buddy and for overnight stays.
