Digital Workplace Services
A Digital Workplace isthe name given to today's virtual, modern version of traditional workplaces. The experience provides personalised, role-based services as well as the data, applications, and collaboration tools required for employees to work securely with each other from anywhere, on any device, at any time.
Our aim is to enable teams across the NHS to connect to information, expertise and knowledge to help them be more productive and to support decision making.
Digital Workplace Services will adopt a simple, user-centric approach adoption of technology and digital tools, systems and services across the new NHS England and the wider system.
The teams are divided into threecore areas.
- Collaboration services
- Web team
- Corporate IT
- Services are delivered to internal customers and NHS organisations.
This is a strategic role that continually assesses the strategic business needs to determine the best approach to develop, manage and continuously improve the Enterprise Applications landscape within NHS England.
Main duties of the job
- Developing Enterprise Applications strategy for NHS England, commercially of the self (COTS) products, Software as a Service (SaaS) and bespoke products developed to meet the strategic corporate needs of NHS England.
- Developing and managing the Applications team responsible for developing, implementing, enhancing and supporting all transactional applications.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends that have an impact on the Applications strategy and good working relationships with existing and potential strategic vendors used by NHS England.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
