Job summary
Training Programme Directors have specific responsibilities as agreed in their job plans but retain corporate responsibility with the LTPD for the organisation and supervision of specialty training programmes for general practice within NHSE in line with the national curriculum.
This appointment is to the Postgraduate School of Primary Care. The post will be based at Northumbria GP Training Programme.
Main duties of the job
Key elements of this are:
- Organising and delivering the taught course to doctors in GP training
- Advising and supporting hospital and GP trainer
- Resourcing the assessment system (ARCP)
- Support to doctors in difficulty, including early warning, needs assessment and support to trainers of such doctors
- Training the workforce (GP Educationalists, admin, GP and hospital trainers, educational and clinical supervisors)
- Supporting the Lead Training Programme Director as required to fulfill the School's agreed functions

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
