Job summary

As the Head of Digital Delivery, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a comprehensive digital strategy to enable the realisation of Intelligent Hospitals for the Programme.

The post holder will develop and manage a delivery framework for the Digital Workstream ensuring the digital team is aligned with the wider programme delivery strategy.

They will work with the NHP Transformation Directorate workstreams to align delivery approaches and ensure the digital agenda is embedded in everything we do, both internally and externally.

Main duties of the job

  • Leading the development of the Digital Workstreams Delivery framework. Ensuring it supports the delivery of the Digital Strategy, Transformation Directorate Strategy and the wider Programme Delivery model.

  • Working with the Digital Workstreams strategic objectives, implement, and monitor the delivery framework; ensure it remains current and in alignment with the wider Transformation Directorate and Programme Delivery objectives.

  • Working collaboratively across NHS England, strategic partners, national and regional teams. Align with NHSE Standards and Guidance, understand NHSE programmes to promote alignment on integration and interpret how to leverage and deliver into the NHP programme.

  • Developing a digital delivery team to provide support of the digital delivery framework. to the programme schemes, ensuring the necessary capacity and capability are in place. Support and mentor this team building in a culture of ongoing improvement.

  • Establishing a matrix working governance with Programme Delivery groups to ensure a joined-up approach to reimagining the delivery of healthcare within the context of NHP.

  • In alignment with the Transformation Delivery Strategy, Establish and develop partnerships with NHP Trusts and communities, embedding a robust approach to people participation in our work, supporting the New Hospital Programme in meeting the statutory duties to involve patients, public and staff.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

  • Experience of project and programme management techniques and tools such as Prince 2 or Managing Successful Projects

  • Experience in implementing infrastructure programmes across industry sectors
