Job responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Access expert to join us in Data Governance & Assurance team, within Data Access and Partnerships within the Data and Analytics sub-directorate. The Data Access and Partnerships area is responsible for ensuring effective access to data products for internal and external users. It includes three functions which provide the Health and Care Partnerships and Data Access Control components of the Data & Analytics Operating Model.

The three functions are:

1. Data Governance & Assurance- This function is made up of 1 team, and its purpose is to ensure that all access to data complies with legal, ethical and policy requirements through efficient, transparent and predictable processes. The team provides expertise in data access requirements and engages with key internal and external groups.

2. Data Access Service - This function is made up of 4 teams:

Engagement & Account Management and Applications and these 2 teams provide engagement with external data users, understand their requirements, and support access through appropriate services via the associated application process.

Secure Data Environment Service & Systems Management and this team provides users outside NHS England with secure access to data products through secure data environments and to manage the systems that support applications, management of the data access process and reporting.

DigiTrials and Research Products whose purpose purpose is to provide users outside NHS England with bespoke products targeted that enable research use cases, including the NHS DigiTrials services.

3. Data Portfolio management -This function is made up of 3 teams, Dataset Onboarding & IAO, Internal & Health System Data Flows and Data Products & Provisioning, and the functions purpose is to work with teams across D&A to ensure that our data assets are well understood and used, and to coordinate internal transfers of data and external disseminations.
