Job summary
We are in the process of establishing long-term capability to deliver the New Hospital Programme - the 3rd largest programme on the Government's Major Projects Portfolio enabling the delivery of NHS's Health Infrastructure Plan.
As a Commercial Operations Manager, the postholder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Commercial Directorate supporting the Business Operations Lead in:
Supporting the directorate to define, build and grow the culture across the Commercial Directorate.
Leading development, implementation, and assessment of strategies and programs to continuously improve engagement among our employees and wider commercial workforce, contributing to a high performing organisation linked to our values.
Working in partnership with senior leaders, evolve recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding programs for the Commercial Directorate.
Building strong internal and external networks and drive change management and leadership of Culture & Engagement initiatives.
Deliver operational engagement programmes and initiatives that support wider team objectives, including management of relevant engagement platforms such as the NHP Hub, supporting with event management and logistics, webinars, and operational forms of communication.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Business Operations Lead and their team to ensure that their work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and assist in their successful delivery:
Manage the team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management.
Liaise with appropriate functions within the organisation and the Sector.
Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns.
Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisation.
Take a lead in the coordination of training & development and recruitment activity across the team.
Oversight and management of all aspects of the team budgets.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
