Job summary

Our Clinical Networks have a national mandate for transformational change in CVD, Stroke, Diabetes and Respiratory. They bring stakeholders together to:

Improve quality outcomes

Advance the delivery of services

Reduce unacceptable variations of care

We are seeking to appoint two Programme Managersto support leading key developments in the delivery of our clinical programmes, including CVD Prevention, Treating Tobacco Dependency, and Obesity. You will:

Have a high level of autonomy and self-drive

Be able to manage multiple priorities and provide direction to teams to achieve the agreed plan

Have highly developed communication skills; will have experience of communicating on highly complex matters in difficult situations and in a politically sensitive environment

Need to demonstrate effective leadership skills in leading a clinical network team and in working with a range of stakeholders, including through a "team of teams" approach with wider teams

Have the ability to work face to face with the team and to travel across multiple sites where required

Main duties of the job

The post holders will:

Ensure the effective engagement of patients, professionals and constituent organisations in clinical networks that supports the delivery of national outcome ambitions in line with national and locally agreed priorities, needs and resource

Develop support for systems at different stages of delivery in implementing national deliverables for the programme areas to improve their quality and outcomes, promote equality of provision and evidence based sustainable local services across the South West region

Support the implementation of integrated care models and population health approaches with a clear focus on Prevention, Cardiac, Stroke, Diabetes and Respiratory

Ensure the collection, evaluation and spread of good practice and excellence across the South West, working with ICSs, Health Innovation Networks and other improvement organisations

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
