Job summary
This post will be positioned within our Regional AHP clinical leadership team, and will work on key priorities across the programme, specifically in supply and retention initiatives relating to the priority AHP professions. You will work closely with the regional quality and commissioning leads, supply and innovation leads and programme senior reporting officers within NHS England, providing specialist oversight and leadership to deliver key initiatives to support and deliver against the NHS LTWP.
You will provide strategic oversight and leadership in the development of policy, direction and frameworks to support the delivery of these ambitions.
The post holder will have an opportunity to use their skills and experience on a variety of flexible high priority agendas, working with internal and external partners and stakeholders to gain traction in delivering improvements.
This will be a high-profile role, drawing on the expert experience and leadership of the post holder to plan, shape and deliver workforce transformation within the AHP agenda. Working with the Head of Allied Health Professions, you will build strong collaborative relationships with other NHSE programmes and directorates, the higher education system, Professional Regulators, NHS providers and system partners and networks to develop and improve models and frameworks for high quality, innovative education and training.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership within NHS England AHP Agenda
Develop the relationship and engagement strategy for key partners to inform priority AHP workforce sustainability strategy.
To oversee the exploration and development of new clinical placement approaches and diversification.
Engage with providers and commissioners to identify current and future workforce needs and to identify and support those areas by co-creating new care models needing new workforce solutions.
Developing key strategic relationships with system partners to collaboratively develop and deliver policy, projects and infrastructure to improve approaches, capacity and quality of education and training.
Support the Regional Head of AHPs to develop programmes of work to deliver NHS England's strategic and statutory responsibilities to plan, develop and improve education and training in the East of England.
In partnership, to develop QA processes to standardise experiences for all AHP learners and develop strong systems and processes to improve quality in education linked to the Quality Framework.
Work with internal and external clinical and managerial leadership to coordinate, develop and deliver programme of work in relation to supporting a robust AHP workforce.
Work with the Head of Allied Health Professionals to develop an effective and high performing team.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
