Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Professional Standards subject matter expert to join the team which provides leadership across NHS England on a diverse range of Professional Standards issues and specifically medical revalidation and appraisal and matters relating to the management of the England performers list, including responding to concerns about any primary care performer included on the list.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across Professional Standards in England to deliver the statutory requirements of the Performers List Regulations and Responsible Officer Regulations.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience in medical appraisal and revalidation and the management of concerns under the Performers List Regulations or significant experience of management of high stakes concerns in a comparable regulatory context.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

The role supports regions to ensure that they develop appropriate subject matter expertise and technical skills, to ensure effective delivery of NHSEs statutory functions. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of a central repository of information and ensuring legal and other advice is shared appropriately.
