Job summary
As a policy lead in the maternity and neonatal programme, the post holder will work as part of adynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the maternity andneonatal programme to make national policy and support local systems to make changes to the safetyof their maternity services.
The post holder will support implementation of the Three Year Delivery plan for maternity and neonatalservices to make maternity and neonatal care safer, more personalised and more equitable for women,babies and families in response to the challenges facing the sector, including as set out in theOckenden and Kirkup reports.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the assistant director of maternity and newborn safety with programmes across thesafety portfolioo Lead the development of the future maternity and neonatal equity & equality strategy andprovide oversight of existing programmes.o Lead work related to personalised care and service user voice priorities.o Lead the coordination of maternity and neonatal workforce priorities by working closely with theWorkforce, Training & Education directorate.o Develop and implement systems to ensure information is properly managed and best practice isshared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisations as appropriate.o Take a lead in the coordination of training and development and recruitment activity across theDepartment or Directorate.o Oversight and management of all aspects of the Department or Directorate budgets.o Line managemento Any other tasks that maybe assigned by the assistant director of maternity and newbornsafety/the deputy director for the programme

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
