Job summary
The National Senior QA Advisor role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and effective team member to join the national quality improvement team as a screening QA advisor in the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening and Diabetic Eye Screening (DES) portfolio.
This exciting post provides the opportunity to work with a high degree of autonomy, whilst working closely with the senior clinical lead (CPH).In this role you will be responsible of the delivery of a comprehensive programme of quality assurance functions, capable of maintaining and further developing, effective high quality screening nationally. You will be required to provide strategic leadership for the place based quality assurance service, providing specialist advice and leading on national programme changes, which will play a pivotal role in the continual development and improvement of the NHS Screening Programmes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders at a national, regional, ICB and local level. Working collaboratively with colleagues from other national portfolio teams to promote high quality and consistency across national screening programmes.
Main duties of the job
This role will be diverse and challenging, with no two days being the same. It will involve working with colleagues across the vaccination and screening directorate as well as wider directorates within NHS England, leading and supporting agreed national workstreams. Some of the work you can expect to be involved in includes:o Co-developing national strategies, standards, guidance and outcomes to support the effective, efficient and equitable delivery of AAA and Diabetic eye screening serviceso Working with the Transformation Directorate to commission and maintain national tech and data capabilities and services where it makes sense to do so once for England.o Working with Workforce, Education and Training Directorate to commission and maintain education and training resources and co-ordinate workforce planning for vaccination, screening and CHIS services.o Collecting and disseminating best practice and evidence to support improvements in uptake, improving screening coverage across all our communities.o Working with the Strategy Directorate to ensure those eligible for screening services know how and when to access services through clear and concise communications.o Reducing health inequalities and promoting primary and secondary prevention within the services that we are responsible for

The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues from other portfolio teams and nationally in order to promote consistency across national screening programmes and in the delivery of the regional quality assurance function.
The successful candidate must be able to operate independently with the capability to interpret, implement and provide specialist advice ensuring that all advice being given by that team is evidence based. The Senior QA Advisor will identify matters of particular complexity/sensitivity and know when to seek advice from professional clinical experts.
This role will involve working with colleagues across the directorate and inother directorates, leading or supporting agreed workstreams as appropriate.
