Job summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the delivery of the NHS People Plan, NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and the Management and Leadership Development Programme.

This role is part of the Leadership and Talent Team which was newly formed in April and the postholder will report into the Senior Specialist, Leadership and Talent.

Our friendly teams work very closely together across national, regional and local systems and we pride ourselves in living the values within the People Plan and being able to work together flexibly to deliver the best outcomes for our people.

This role is offered with flexible working and the option to work from home, but with the expectation of attendance at regional offices for events such as team away days

Main duties of the job

As a Leadership and Talent Coordinator, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the regional leadership and talent team. In particular the post holder will:

  • Provide comprehensive advice and co-ordinating leadership and talent development across the region.
  • Work to ensure leadership and talent development is well coordinated in terms of alignment to regional and national strategy

The post holder will also be operating in a matrix environment with others in the wider Workforce, Training and Education team within the region.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.   • Experience of coordinating large, complex areas of work across multi disciplinary teams
  • Experience in communications and stakeholder management
  • Workforce development knowledge and experience

Knowledge

  • Specialist knowledge in a relevant subject area e.g. leadership development and/or talent management

Desirable

  • Qualification in coaching/psychometric testing and feedback
  • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it

  • Ability to build and nurture relationships and networks
