Job summary
As a Business Continuity and Security Assistant Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective Business Continuity Management System for NHS England through:
- Development of the Business Continuity leads network for regions and directorates
- Training of BC leads as required
- Supporting the development of Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Plans
- Exercising Business Continuity Plans
- Manage the incident communications system
- Lead the co-ordination of internal incident management with the support of relevant Incident Management Teams
- Maintain an overview of internal security and delivery

Main duties of the job
Business Continuity
The Business Continuity team is responsible for the development of a robust and consistent Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) throughout NHS England, specifically the team is required to;
- Identify and mitigate business continuity risks which they may be exposed to and ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are in place;
- Ensure that the BCMS provides planning, processes, training and continuous improvement to manage operational incidents throughout the organisation to ensure robust incident response and recovery;
- Develop and maintain the use of the staff alert system for business continuity incidents;
- Ensure coordination between Business Continuity and Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) / Resilience Team functions;
- Complete the annual Business Continuity assurance programme, including review and exercise of BCPs and annual management review.
- Support the delivery of internal NHSE security management
