Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for two experienced clinicians to join the Transformation Directorate's Digital Clinical Informatics team. We are recruiting two Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist roles within two different teams.

1x Digital Urgent and Emergency Care (12 months fixed term contract - maternity leave cover)

This role would be specifically working within the NHS 111 online and 'Find the right service' suite of digital products to provide specialist clinical informatics support to the product teams. The 'Find the Right Service' suite of digital products is current undergoing a major re-platforming process, therefore would require interim clinical leadership and support from an experienced clinical informatician who has recent experience in leading clinical safety process and is a Clinical Safety Officer.

1x Digital Medicines (permanent contract)

This role will support the Digital Medicines Senior Clinical lead working as part of a team delivering activities in support of the NHS England Digital Clinical Governance Framework.

Digital medicines programme is about improving productivity, safety and patient experience and delivering benefits to clinicians and patients through: data, technology, workforce and patients.

Main duties of the job

Some of the skills and experience we're looking for:

  • You will be a UK registered clinician with proven credibility and the ability to command respect from clinical and non-clinical professionals
  • Proven high-level experience of supporting delivery of complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment
  • Evidence of ensuring that there is a clinical safety focus throughout the life cycle of programmes and services
  • Ability to clearly communicate informatics-related work, including being able to explain the clinical requirements and safety processes to non-clinical stakeholders so that they understand them and can comply with safety and assurance processes
  • Demonstrable experience of clinical governance frameworks with a strategic understanding of clinical risk and clinical safety, applied through risk assessment and clinical safety methodology
  • Demonstrable people and professional leadership skills that empower, support, and develop teams to achieve the high performance and enable team members to reach their full potential
  • Currently registered and regulated health or social care professional with significant evidence of continued professional development
