Job summary

The New Hospital Programme (NHP) is a key initiative within NHS England to deliver a world-class healthcare infrastructure, creating modern, efficient hospitals that meet the evolving needs of patients and staff.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Organisational Development (OD) and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Manager to lead and implement strategies that foster an inclusive culture, drive organisational effectiveness, and ensure the workforce is prepared for transformational change.

This role will work across the New Hospital Programme, influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to ensure OD,EDI and Health and Wellbeing principles are embedded into every stage of the programme.

Main duties of the job

Operational Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of organisational development initiatives that align with the New Hospital Programme's strategic objectives. Focus on fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and continuous learning.

Improving Quality and Outcomes: Develop and deliver tailored EDI training programmes that enhance organisational culture and employee engagement. Regularly assess the impact of these initiatives and refine them to improve outcomes.

Promoting Equality and Reducing Inequalities: Lead efforts to embed EDI principles across all areas of the Programme. Ensure that all policies, practices, and procedures are inclusive and equitable, promoting a diverse workforce and eliminating barriers to equality.

Leadership for Transformational Change: Drive organisational change by leading EDI and development projects that support the Programme's long-term goals. Act as a change agent, promoting a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement.

Health and Wellbeing: Collaborate with HR and occupational health teams to implement initiatives that support staff wellbeing, including mental health awareness, stress management, and lead campaigns and initiatives aimed at reducing workplace stress and supporting the overall wellbeing of staff throughout the programme's lifecycle.

Cultural Change Management: Drive cultural change initiatives that promote an inclusive and high-performing work environment. Work with senior leadership to embed organisational values and behaviours that support diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Reporting and Analytics: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of EDI, Wellbeing and organisational development initiatives using data-driven approaches. Provide regular reports to senior management with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with senior leaders, clinical teams, HR, and external partners to influence the integration of OD, EDI, and Health & Wellbeing principles across the New Hospital Programme - providing expert advice and guidance and helping to shape strategies that address both workforce and service delivery challenges.

Policy Development and Compliance: Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to organisational development and EDI. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and NHS guidelines.
