Job summary

Choices College is a national Specialist Post-16 College providing a person-centred, individually-tailored Supported Internship to young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Through the Internship, 16-24 year olds gain work experience, develop independence skills and increase their employability.

The College and Internship Programme are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the commissioning Local Authorities through individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).

As part of the Education Team, this post will play a key role in the implementation and management of the college's internal quality assurance and improvement processes. The quality of education we deliver and the experience and outcomes for our interns is at the cornerstone of Choices College vison and values.

The Quality Improvement Coordinator will operate nationally across the college, supporting quality targets and interventions including the EIF, ESFA funding rules and internal policy and processes.

This role will play a key role in the production, implementation, and review of systems and processes intended to deliver effective, efficient, high-quality education to support our interns during their Supported Internship.

Main duties of the job

The Quality Improvement Coordinator will therefore be a key role within the College with responsibility for:

  • Coordinating quality improvement work streams.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on quality improvement systems to support the front-line teams to improve and develop their areas. Utilising digital platforms to reduce team's workload and volume of paperwork.
  • Facilitate the deep dive and audit programme, supporting managers to maintain records and monitor action plans from audit outcomes.
  • Facilitate communication and sharing of good practice and ideas throughout the college.
  • Facilitate external reviews and reports ensuring action plans are updated and completed.
  • Ensure alignment of quality improvement systems and processes within NHSE and internal college procedures.
  • Develop and maintain local data reporting systems.
  • Provide real time data and reports nationally and convey complex issues to groups and individuals of different professional backgrounds, using appropriate equipment and technology.
  • Promote a culture of educational excellence and continuous improvement by participating in the Observation of Teaching Learning and Assessment process. (OTLA)
  • Act as Internal Quality Assurer for a specific caseload of assessors utilising the internal system One File.
  • Develop and maintain links with external partners and internal NHSE departments where necessary.

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Teaching qualification at level 4 or above.
  • IQA and Assessor qualification.
  • Qualifications and experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

  • Microsoft Innovative Educator

  • Substantial teaching and assessment experience in the FE sector.
