Job summary

An opportunity exists to be part of a small, dynamic team within the south east region's Medical Directorate. We are recruiting for a Project Support Officer to join the Higher Level Responsible Officer (HLRO) team.

The HLRO team works within a statutory framework implementing a range of measures designed to improve the quality of care for patients. On behalf of the HLRO, the team supports healthcare organisations to make sure the environment in which their doctors work, is focused on improving and maintaining the quality and safety of patient care. There are approximately 24,000 doctors working in some 120 organisations across all healthcare sectors in the south east region.

Main duties of the job

As a Project Support Officer, you will provide high quality project support to several of the team's workstreams as part of a programme of work. This work aims to assure compliance with the statutory responsibilities associated with the role of the HLRO which includes the medical appraisal and revalidation of senior medical leaders.

Good communication skills and the ability to maintain good relationships with stakeholders are also essential.

The role is office based in the Reading office and the post holder will be expected to travel throughout the south east region including travel to London.
