Job summary
As Deputy Head of Nursing the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective IPC service supporting the region and systems to deliver against national objectives. The post holder will report to the Head of Nursing for IPC with matrix working to the Heads of Nursing. The post holder will be a registered nurse, have clinical credibility and the ability to work cohesively on day-to-day basis with regional, system colleagues and other stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
Support the Clinical Quality Team with delivery of nursing priorities and portfolios.
Support the Head of infection prevention and Control to deliver on both regional and national priorities.
Support the delivery of elements of NHS England's and the Chief Nursing Officer priorities.
Lead on the aspects of operational delivery of the Long Term Plan, System Oversight Framework and operational planning guidance under the NHS England Operating Framework.
Support the Head of Nursing and Director of Nursing to create processes to gain assurance that Integrated Care Systems across the region are delivering care in line with constitutional, legislative and national guidance.
Provide advice and guidance internally to the NHSE regional team and externally to aligned stakeholders as appropriate.
Lead the Quality Team and the IPC team on the analysis of data to enable completion of reports and performance monitoring of quality and patient outcomes.

Salary Progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8c with a full-time starting salary of £70,417, with a pay step increase after 5 years service.
These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
