Job summary

The HRA is transforming the research approvals process and its associated applications over the next three . As the Chief Business Transformation Officer, accountable to the Senior Responsible Owner (Chief Executive) you will lead the implementation of the overall business change needed to achieve our strategic goals and objectives. The main focus will be enabling the business transformation needed (internally and externally) by our Research Systems programme. This is a critical role with significant responsibility and visibility for leading this programme's outcomes and benefits within agreed time, cost and quality constraints. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of a matrixed programme across all change dimensions: people, process, technology, organisational design and communication.

The matrix will include access to required capabilities across the HRA and our suppliers including Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO), SRO(s), Senior User, programme management, HR, process analysis, legal, finance, operational expertise, engagement and communications.

Main duties of the job

As the Chief Business Transformation Officer, you will:

  • Lead business transformation delivery for the HRA with a particular focus on enabling our Research Systems programme.
  • Create and deliver the business transformation programme of work.
  • Lead programme and project management for business transformation.
  • Be a change leader and co-lead the HRA with the Executive Committee and the Board to deliver our objectives in line with our values.
  • Enable effective stakeholder engagement for business transformation.
  • Lead the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints making sure responsibilities for the business transformation programme are adequately assigned, resourced and undertaken.

  • Managing Successful Programmes (practitioner or advanced practitioner) or Prince2 Practitioner or demonstrable experience in large scale project/programme delivery
