Job summary

The HRA's vision is for high quality health and social care research today, which improves everyone's health and wellbeing tomorrow and our three year strategy Making it easier to do research that people can trust sets out two complementary guiding principles that shape our work: Include - health and social care research is done with and for everyone, and Accelerate - research findings improve care faster because the UK is the easiest place in the world to do research that people can trust.These are supported by two enabling principles that shape how we work: Use digital technology well to do our work Always look for ways to do things betterThe Head of Policy and Engagement will be central to helping the HRA achieve this.The post holder will lead a team of policy and engagement specialists to take forward activities outlined in our business plan, ensuring that the HRA delivers on its strategic ambitions. They will be a strong leader who is able to set the direction for their team and inspire them to work collaboratively and creatively with internal and external stakeholders to make it easier to do health and social care research that people can trust.

Main duties of the job

This role sits within the Policy and Partnerships directorate which is made up of four teams: policy and engagement, communications, public involvement and data and AI policy. We provide support and advice across the organisation on communicating with staff and external audiences, engaging with stakeholders and involving patients and the public in our work.
