This is a unique opportunity to join NHS Resolution as a Senior Medical Advisor providing expert clinical input to shape and maximise the value of our safety and learning initiatives. This post is offered as a part-time secondment alongside an existing NHS clinical role, and would be ideally suited to a clinician who wishes to extend their experience in a national leadership capacity in a growing NHS organisation, with the opportunity to influence safety improvements across the healthcare system.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing medical expertise to maximise the impact of our safety and learning initiatives, with a particular focus on safety and learning within the context of secondary care, such as Urgent and Emergency Care. The Senior Medical Advisor will work closely with a range of partners working across the healthcare system in England to support the effective delivery of NHS Resolutions strategic aims and priorities.

Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes.
Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.
Primary Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of Primary Care contracting services.
Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.
