Job summary
We have two Data Scientist roles available.
NHS Resolution is a not-for-profit part of the NHS working for health
care providers to resolve claims fairly and to share learning across the NHS
and beyond. We provide a supportive environment for our staff with

Reporting to the Data Science Manager, the post holders will provide
expertise in Data Science and analytical methods. The post holders will assist
the data science team in development of statistical and analytical best
practices and apply these practices to complex NHSR datasets to deliver data
insights.
The post holders will develop data science
methodologies for ad-hoc analysis, insights work and for highly complex
prediction and statistical models. You will also contribute to model
testing and development activities performed by the data science team.
Main duties of the job

Act
as an expert for the organisation on Data Science methods and analytical
methods.
Develop
statistical and analytical best practices and apply the best practices to
complex NHSR datasets to deliver data insights.
Research
and develop methodologies for the implementation of highly complex prediction
and statistical models.
Contribute
to model testing and development activities performed by the data science team
and contribute to deploying data catalogue to create a consistent, managed pool
of data assets.
Contribute
to the development of statistical, mathematical and predictive modelling for
such highly complex issues as claim value prediction.
Aid
in the design of machine learning models to identify risk patterns to drive
intelligently NHSR activity such as scenario modelling around risk and payout.
Project length 3 years.
Assist
in granular analysis of each stage of the claims lifecycle to drive changes in
the claim processing, improve training, improve data quality and optimize NHSR
resource allocation.

for profit part of the NHS, our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to
resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement and preserve resources

- Claims
Management: delivering expertise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims
to members of our Indemnity Schemes.
- Practitioner
Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to
concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.
- Primary
Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of
Primary Care contracting services.
- Safety
and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims,
concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across
the NHS.
