Job summary

NHS Resolution is a not-for-profit part of the NHS working for health care providers to resolve claims fairly and to share learning across the NHS and beyond. We provide a supportive environment for our staff with specialist training and the opportunity for personal development.

In this role as our Information Governance Lead, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on Information Governance issues; this will involve advising and managing all NHS Resolution (NHSR) staff on information governance, and implementing the governance of the NHS Resolutions Information Security Management System (ISMS) ISO/IEC 27001:202. The post holder will work with a team withing the Corporate Governance function to ensure full compliance with statutory obligations such as the General Data Protection Regulations, other related legislation, national standards and recognised best practice.

Main duties of the job

You'll be using your professional expertise and experience to lead and provide your expert support to ensure were continually developing and delivering, working with internal and external stakeholders and driving best practice and ensuring our statutory obligations are met.

Passionate about this area of corporate responsibility, youll bring your enthusiasm and expertise to drive the data protection agenda and support the teams to achieve great working relationships across the organisation and with our external partners. Your strong communication skills will enable you to implement effective data protection processes and systems and provide frameworks to enable consistency across our business. In addition, your ability to create and socialise clear and concise policy and supporting documentation will inspire confidence and allow you to implement meaningful and effective change.

NHS Resolution is an Arms Length Body of the Department of Health & Social Care. As a not for profit part of the NHS, our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement and preserve resources for patients. We have four key service areas:

  • Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes.
  • Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.
  • Primary Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of Primary Care contracting services.
  • Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.
