Job summary

We are recruiting for experienced Clinical Case Managers with a background in either clinical negligence or personal injury claims handling, to join us and contribute towards the main aims of NHS Resolution by proactively managing claims from commencement to conclusion.

Our Claims directorate is responsible for managing a total of ten indemnity schemes covering clinical and non-clinical legal liabilities of NHS organisations in England and independent sector providers of care to NHS patients. The NHS Resolution Claims Management function has embarked on a transformation and expansion programme with a vision to deliver a single, integrated claims function, with a supportive organisational structure that avoids duplication of effort and allows teams to develop their skills.

Main duties of the job

You will contribute to successfully managing clinical claims on behalf of Trusts or GPs and NHS England and will be responsible for a portfolio of complex and non-complex cases and conduct the investigation, quantification, and negotiation of these claims to conclusion.

What you’ll be doing

You will contribute to successfully managing clinical claims on behalf of Trusts or GPs and NHS England and will be responsible for a portfolio of complex and non-complex cases and conduct the investigation, quantification, and negotiation of these claims to conclusion.

What we’re looking for

In addition to having technical knowledge and experience of claims management, ideally in a clinical negligence setting your background and experience will also include:

An understanding of current law and relevant statutes in related insurance, clinical or non-clinical claims negligence area

Knowledge and ability to manage complex and non-complex injury claims from commencement to conclusion

Ability to draft documents and complex correspondence in a concise and professional manner (particularly in legal area).

Evidence and ability of managing a large caseload within strict time limits and conflicting priorities.

Ability to engender trust, develop and maintain constructive relationships with external organisations

Ability to work as a team member and collaboratively with other teams.

Exceptional customer focus and awareness.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to focus on continuous service improvement and innovation.
