This is an excellent opportunity for a Procurement and Contracts Lead to join our team on a 12 months fixed term contract basis (with the possibility of a further 12 months extension) taking responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of procurements across NHS Resolution.

Main duties of the job

You will be the expert providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, and ensuring full compliance with regulations. This is a hands-on role where you will develop strategies and lead on the delivery of procurements to secure the goods and services we need in a cost-effective manner, providing expert commercial advice throughout the process.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a Procurement and Contracts Lead to join our team on a 12 months fixed term contract basis (with the possibility of a further 12 months extension) taking responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of procurements across NHS Resolution.

You will be the expert providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, and ensuring full compliance with regulations. This is a hands-on role where you will develop strategies and lead on the delivery of procurements to secure the goods and services we need in a cost-effective manner, providing expert commercial advice throughout the process.

What youll be doing

  • As the Procurement Lead, you will manage and deliver your own distinct portfolio of projects.

  • You will be responsible for delivering every step of the procurement process for each project, from inception (Make vs Buy) through to Contract Award and handover to the Contract Manager.

  • You will liaise with stakeholders across the business, driving positive change through your excellent interpersonal skills and procurement knowledge.

  • Carrying out procurements for a range of goods and services across various contract values, you will be comfortable working at pace and making decisions under pressure while managing your busy portfolio.

  • Shaping and implementing procurement policy and procedures to support effective delivery across the organisation.

  • Deputising for the Deputy Head of Procurement and representing NHS Resolution in a variety of internal and external forums as directed.

What were looking for

  • Degree and relevant legal qualification and/or specialist procurement (e.g. CIPS) knowledge or experience acquired through formal education or practical experience.

  • In-depth experience of managing tenders in a public sector environment.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement Regulations including Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.

  • Experience of guiding stakeholders to develop and articulate their statement of requirements.

  • Experience in drafting contracts including terms and conditions and schedules.

  • An effective communicator with strong negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to inspire confidence.

  • Ability to build good working relationships with a wide of people both internally and externally.

  • Ability to work autonomously, to plan, organise, manage and prioritise own workload; using own initiative and working to tight deadlines.
