Job summary
In this role as NHS Resolutions Information Governance Officer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on Information Governance issues. The post holder will assist in ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations such as the General Data Protection Regulation, other related legislation, national standards and recognised best practice.
You will work with internal and external stakeholders, driving best practice and ensuring our statutory obligations are met. This will involve advising NHS Resolution (NHSR) staff on information governance.
The Information Governance Officers tasks will be to assist stakeholders with information risk management in projects e.g. facilitating the DPIA process. They will be responsible for assisting the Information Governance Manager with information asset management including the review and update of the organisations Information Asset Register (IAR) and Record of Processing Activity (RoPA).
The post holder will also be required to assist with the collection of evidence for the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit submission as well as any other duties required by the Information Governance Manager.
Main duties of the job
- Maintaining and improving the Key Performance Indicators that will help measure the progress on the strategic objectives to improve how security and Information Governance is handled within NHS Resolution.
- Responsibility for delivery of training and awareness raising.
- Facilitation of the DPIA process.
- Information risk analysis.
- Providing advice and guidance on all security and information governance related matters.
