NHS Resolution

Senior Assessment and Remediation Manager

The closing date is 06 July 2025

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a case manager to play a key role in our assessment and remediation service, helping NHS organisations manage performance concerns about clinicians. The Senior Assessment and Remediation Manager (SARM) manages a caseload of complex assessment and remediation cases concerning practitioners about whom there are performance concerns or who have been absent from work.

The SARM manages clinical performance assessments, which involve the SARM accompanying a clinical team on visits to a clinicians workplace then working closely with the team to produce a detailed report setting out their findings and conclusions. The SARM also prepares bespoke action plans which set out programmes of activities to help clinicians improve their performance or assist their return to work after an absence from practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of clinical assessment visits, planning the visit with a multidisciplinary in-house team, accompanying the assessors on the visit, making sure the visit runs smoothly, and liaising with the practitioner throughout. Following the visit, you will work closely with the assessors to produce a robust and clear report of the findings from the assessment.
  • Preparing action plans (reskilling and/or remediation) to help practitioners who need support to deliver safe clinical practice. You will analyse complex case materials, liaise with practitioners and healthcare organisations about the case, undertake case-specific research and draft an action plan within a target timeframe.
  • Making an active contribution to service development and managing various projects associated with the service.
