SCL/CDD Services are looking to recruit a hardworking,
flexible, and enthusiastic and customer focused individual to join our Team.
We are currently looking for a Clinical Engineering Support
Technician to join a team of individuals within the Clinical Engineering
department in providing effective & efficient medical device repair and
maintenance services.
The successful candidate will play an integral role within
the team in ensuring that medical devices are effectively and safely maintained
across the Trust.
Successful post holder will work in a friendly, efficient
manner, have good communication, organisational skills and have the ability to
multitask & prioritise work load.
The successful applicant should have an interest in
engineering and maintenance of medical devices. Previous engineering experience
would be an advantage, but not essential for the right candidate as training
will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Carry out service, repair and calibration of basic items of
medical equipment to include CPAPs, bed frames, nebulisers, electrical
suction, pulse oximeters etc.
Provision of service support role at Respiratory Clinics.
Carry out Electrical Safety Testing (EST) of biomedical
equipment working in Clinical environments including Critical Care areas.
Ordering of spare parts and consumables.
Working flexibly across the Trust estate as required.

Job responsibilities
A. Carry out
Servicing, calibration and repair of a wide range of equipment.
B. Investigation
of user reported equipment problems. Tracing and rectification of such faults
ensuring the most cost effective outcome to provide equipment with required
standards of reliability.
C. Be able
to plan allocated workloads, organise routine maintenance and small blocks
of work and prioritise user reported
equipment problems to produce an efficient, cost effective outcome.
D. Carry out
acceptance testing of newly purchased equipment verifying conformity to
pre-purchase requirements and equipment standards. This includes generation of
a Trust asset number accurately recording all appropriate purchase detail.
E. Accurately
generate and maintain equipment records for historical, audit and traceability
purposes.
F. Work
within the Departments Quality System (EN ISO 9001:2015) incorporating
Quality/National Standards, Good working practice, controlled documentation and
work instructions.
G. Requisition
spare parts/equipment repairs for efficient, cost effective action of faulty
equipment, minimising equipment downtime.
H. To be
articulate, develop efficiency and maintain or improve the departments profile
and standing within the Trust.
I. Carry
out action required for Hazard notices, Safety Action Bulletins and
Manufacturers notices.
J. To use

K. Provide
