Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Procurement
Manager to lead on the procurement of Major Projects for Estates & Capital
due to the vast number of projects in the Capital Programme to develop and
enhance our estate and wider services.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has the
drive, enthusiasm and ability to work in a strategically challenging and
rewarding environment, whilst offering a unique opportunity for them to broaden
their procurement career.
The ideal candidate should enjoy working as part of a team,
be motivated, adaptable, able to influence, conduct strategic negotiations,
have excellent inter-personnel skills and the ability to communicate clearly
and effectively at all levels.
The role is flexible and we offer hybrid working.
Main duties of the job
The candidate needs to have demonstratable experience within
public sector procurement in above threshold tendering, managing complex
capital procurement projects, leading the development of estates and capital
procurement strategies, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, lead and drive
regular meetings to discuss project plans, priotiritsation of work, use of e-Tendering
systems and working on their own initiative.
You will act as an advocate to drive improvements in the
development, approval and implementation of procurement documentation, policies
and ways of working to achieve best practice and compliance. Managing and mentoring a small number of
procurement professionals, supporting individuals to develop their knowledge,
skills to progress and improve peformance.

- Specialised knowledge of JCT, NEC suite of contracts and NHS standard Terms and Conditions and the application within an Estates and Capital Projects environment.
- Proven track record of forging robust stakeholder relationships with the skills to on-board and motivate stakeholders throughout a programme of work.
- Working knowledge of project management and project forward planning underpinned by applied experience.
