Cleaning Supervisor

Department ADMK sites including Oak Ward, Imaging and other

Band 4 £27,485 - £30,162 Per annum

Hours; 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

Are you customer focused and do you have previous supervisory cleaning experience, preferably within healthcare?

Have you previously worked, or willing to learn, general cleaning supervisor duties in a patient environment, and are you passionate about delivering high cleaning standards for NHS patients?

ADMK are looking to recruit experienced domestic supervisory staff to oversee teams of a mix of full-time, flexible and shift, hospital cleaners.We are recruiting immediate hires and registering interest for future positions including for occasional shifts working from our newly establishing bank of staff.

Candidates without supervisory experience might wish to consider applying for other roles we are also advertising, in the knowledge that as we grow there will be opportunity to develop with us.

Reporting to the ADMK Operations Manager, you will work in a healthcare setting, overseeing all members of the domestic team to create a clean and safe environment that enhances the appearance of the facility.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing first line supervisory support for staff involved with the delivery of domestic services at ADMK sites including Oak Ward, Imaging and other.

Primary duties will include the day to day management supervision and working with a team of domestic staff, monitoring standards of cleanliness within the areas of reasonability and liaising with the service users to ensure practices and procedures are maintained to national standards of cleanliness.

The post holder will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of a team of domestic staff and will be expected to lead the team with high motivation and enthusiasm while acting as the first point of contact for staff management issues.

The post holder will develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other department managers, ward matrons and their respective team and inform the ADMK Operations Manager of any change(s) affecting their designated area(s).

The post holder will be required to have a hands-on approach and working with its team in the discharge of their duties and will be responsible for undertaking first stage Quality control in Ward/Departmental areas on a daily basis, ensuring that specified standards are maintained according to the National Standards.

Post holders will also be required to work without supervision and use a high level of initiative in decision making.

Dealing with complaints from staff and service users in the first instance and escalating any unresolved issue(s) to the ADMK facilities manager.

Health, Safety and Security

Ensure domestic staff adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures e.g. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations, food hygiene regulations, waste management regulation etc.

Other Duties

Understand and manage situations which may arise as a result of stress related issues when dealing with patients, visitors and staff. Such incidents will require high levels of diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.

Maintain high standards of personal presentation and hygiene during the performance of their duties.
