Job summary

Founded in 2018, AGH Solutions provides a wide range of services from traditional facilities management and estate maintenance to capital projects, sterile services, wheelchair engineering and procurement, for clients within and beyond the NHS. AGHS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

Due to expansion of the finance team to meet increased demands and growth of the business, we have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced individual to join our small and dynamic team in the new role of Senior Finance Manager.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the role will manage the day-to-day management accounts for the organisation, supporting budget holders and the senior team to maximise the financial effectiveness of the company. With multi-million pound capital projects already underway and the new hospital project taking shape at the Airedale site, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a part in positively impacting the healthcare provision across the Keighley, Skipton, and wider Craven area for generations to come.

The ideal candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA) or equivalent and will have a good range of accounting experience across different elements of a finance department. They will have strong relationship building skills, understand the principles of both private sector and NHS accounting, and be able to demonstrate how to support and challenge operational colleagues. Support for continued professional and skills development will be offered to the successful candidate.

Essential

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification (CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA/ACA), or equivalent experience in a senior role
  • Significant experience in a Financial Accounting or Financial Management role
  • Evidence of continued professional and personal development

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong level of analytical skills and ability to process complex financial data
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and to assess the implications of those decisions based on best information available.
  • Must have a methodical approach, with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Must be computer literate with significant experience of Microsoft office (or similar) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • A demonstrable understanding of the principles of capital accounting.
  • Practical experience of using and setting up complex spreadsheets and graphical facilities.
  • Knowledge of the purpose and the use of budgetary control information

Desirable

  • Good working knowledge of Oracle ledger systems and Financial Reporting.
  • Knowledge of NHS funding flows.
