Job summary
We are looking for a passionate and experienced space planning programme management professional to join RFLPS, reporting into Director of Property to successfully manage the continual improvement and implementation of the space management strategy for the Royal Free London group. The post holder will
- Have the overall responsibility in the delivery and coordination of the Business Unit strategic and operational space management strategy and agenda for our customers and clients
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the project team and agree common vision, values and objectives whilst being accountable for project planning and delivery and to be an expert in the field of RFLPS business strategy and commercial policy
What do we need?
- A qualified Senior Project Manager or equivalent experience; operational manager/clinician or relevant professional qualification with considerable post qualification and project management experience; demonstrate a thorough understanding of development and project delivery in the relevant health sector or similar complex service environment.
- An out-of-the box thinker, who makes brave choices and decisions, and inspires others to do the same
- A self-starter who can handle multiple inputs across different areas of the organisation and is highly confident with communicating at all levels
- A nature business partner with extensive senior stakeholder management experience and is able to advice, challenge and influence at all levels

The key duties of the Post Holder are:
- The Programme Manager is ultimately accountable for the success of the Group and Business Unit space management strategy in meeting business needs of the Trust and ensuring efficient use of the Trust estate.
- The Programme Manager will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the RFL space management programme as a whole and must be proactive and visible as the driving force behind the programme.
- The Programme Manager needs to be able to combine realism with openness and the clarity of expression to communicate the vision effectively. This will involve highly complex situations where there will be significant barriers to understanding.
- Owning and communicating the vision for the strategy and space management programme and being its champion, providing clear leadership and direction through the life of the programme.
- Providing overall direction and leadership for the delivery and implementation of the strategy with personal accountability for its outcome, including taking a lead role in space efficiency initiatives leading to potential property disposal, acquisitions and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders
- Accountable for the space programme governance arrangements and administration by ensuring the programme is managed appropriately to deliver timely and quality outputs and outcomes.
- Responsible for the production and maintenance of key programme and project information, including the overall programme co-ordination, publication of individual project briefs and the preparation of business cases as required for sign-off by the Trust
- Ensure preparation of regular reporting against key performance indicators as required to meet the information requirements of the group, business units, executive directors, and senior management
- Maintaining the alignment of the programme to the organisations strategic direction and taking responsibility for addressing the evolving clinical or business needs and emerging issues that impact on the programme.
- Build productive relationships to secure credibility with key stakeholders.
- Ensure that robust project management mechanisms and systems are in place to successfully deliver significant projects.
