Job summary
The Head of Clinical Engineering provides strategic and Situational leadership in the field of Clinical Engineering to the Trust. The postholder will lead the team providing professional guidance and expertise to support the delivery of excellent clinical service across all sites and Service Level Agreement (SLA) customers. The postholder will provide expert advice/support, leadership and training/education functions for all equipment users at all levels and across all disciplines.
Main duties of the job
Accountable for service delivery and management of theClinical Engineering service across the Trust, providing professional leadership to departmental managers
Develop, design and implement policies and service including business planning and allocating workload programmes for the service delivery needs. Interprets and instigate required policy changes for the Trust, from external bodies (DoH/MHRA/NPSA/etc).
Review, analyse and adjust staffing structureas necessary in discussion withDirector, for effective delivery of theClinical Engineering services, additions and reductions, (sensitive staffing issues).
Identify cost efficiencies for service Improvement and delivery, including modernisation initiatives and different working practices/systems.
Ensure appropriate PPM system in place from resources available within the Department team to ensure maximum patient safety
Provide interpretation and implementation of DoH/MHRA guidelines, policy and statutory requirements,for the operational services. Provide analysis of impact to other professionals (e.g. Nursing Policy) and advice on solutions /strategy.
Design, preparation and delivery of complex presentations to senior staff across the Trust on all aspects of the services, including management, safety, service development/delivery.
