Job summary
The post holder will be part of a team providing a clean and safe environment for our service users and help to reduce the spread of healthcare associated infections (HCAI's) by undertaking general and specialist cleaning duties including Hydrogen Peroxide Vaper (HPV) if required. As part of this role the post holder will also offer a food and beverage service to patients at ward level as part of a Housekeeping role
We are looking for Domestic Assistants to work the following shifts:
1 x 14.00-22.00 (37.5 hours/ week)
1 x 8.00- 15.30 (35 hours/ week)
The proposed interview date is 2nd January

Main duties of the job
Responsible for cleaning in the GMS sites to the British institute of Cleaning Science and NHS standards of Cleanliness to the required work frequencies as per the work schedules. Have the ability to suggest and make changes to work schedules to improve customer experience and improve efficiency.To rectify any failures in cleanliness standards after routine monitoring has been completed and report completion of the rectification to your Supervisor

To adhere to all aspects of Infection Control in all areas of work, including the use of colour coded equipment to ensure there is no spread of infection.
Ensure the cleaning cupboards are clean and tidy after each shift and that all equipment is left check, cleanliness and systems and process are in placeAs part of the GMS water management processes and procedures, be responsible for flushing in wards and department areas. Record information on the flushing forms to show compliance with Health Technical Memorandum
To undertake specialist deep cleaning as specified by infection control procedures, including the cleaning of bodily fluids in public and other areas.
Changing of curtains throughout the Hospital according to the curtain change programme, hang or re hang curtains not hung correctly on an ad hoc basis, replacing broken hooks and stop ends where necessary. Change curtains after an outbreak of infection as required.
When required be responsible for preparation of rooms for HPV cleaning, prepare HPV equipment for processing and complete the HPV cleaning process.
