Job summary

Hospital Stores area; the security of items delivered and efficient delivery of them to wards and departments. Maintaining all records and paperwork. To deliver goods from the warehouse to the various sites of Gloucester Royal Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a candidate that has a C1 driving license for a Luton tail lift van. Good communication skills. Is able to work in a challenging environment. To have investigator skills to maintain good record keeping of goods delivered. To resolve issue within department

This post has a significant amount of personal contact with staff from all departments and services.

To receive and check goods that come in to the warehouse that is not R&D, record and safely move stock around the Site. To gain the appropriate signatures from departments to ensure an auditable trail.

Job description

Job responsibilities

1. To pick and pack various products from the warehouse.

2. Detailed checking of warehouse emails. To respond to job requested via emails

3. Transport goods to all the Wards and Departments around the hospital site as soon as possible after request. A clear and concise name and signature must be obtained, as proof of delivery, from the appropriate authorised person.

4. To use PCs to book inwards and outgoing goods on to the IT system

5. To retrieve it for the warehouse from the GHT sites.6. Answering telephones promptly and courteously, responding to customer enquirers.

7. Filing all paperwork accurately and up to date.

8. Monitor daily and report weekly for departments

9. Follows standard operating procedures and proposes changes as necessary.

10. Assists with the introduction of new recruits.

11. Assists with other ad-hoc duties as required the Warehouse and Materials Management services

12. Ensure correct and safe receipt and unloading of all goods arriving at the Receipt and Distribution point, ranging from roll cages, large items such as beds, cabinets, clinical equipment etc.

13. Detailed checking and via the computer system, booking in of goods, certifying correct receipt and following up any discrepancies, including incorrect deliveries, with the Couriers and Suppliers.

14. Transport goods to all the Wards and Departments around the hospital site, either in the NHS Logistics roll cages or on a trolley or a pallet truck or carrying by hand, as soon as possible after receipt. A clear and concise name and signature must be obtained, as proof of delivery, from the appropriate authorised person.

15. Ensure all roll cages are promptly relocated back to the Receipt and Distribution point from around the hospital site, breaking down and stacking for return to NHS Logistics.

16. Use the PC to input orders details, recorded and investigate missing orders to a satisfactory conclusion.

17. Filing all paperwork accurately and up to date.

18. Monitor daily and report weekly roll cage, tote boxes and parcel activity.

19. Collect incorrect or damaged goods from the Wards and Departments

20. Assist in all safety and security matters within the Receipt and Distribution Department and ensure general housekeeping standards are upheld.

21. Follows standard operating procedures and proposes changes as necessary.

22. The R&D staff will be required to maintain their KPIs on a monthly basis.
