Main duties of the job
The day to day management of the Integrated offender mental health and substance misuse team. This includes the management of resources, first line management of staff, caseload management and supervision and working in close collaboration with the Senior Cluster Manager . The post holder will oversee the team's delivery of evidence based therapeutic interventions for prisoners experiencing a range of mental health and substance misuse difficulties. The role involves close working with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies, locally, regionally and in some instances nationally. The object of the team is to assess, plan and offer therapeutic interventions to a wide range of people with differing needs, working in partnership to empower services users. A priority will be to ensure that those individuals requiring transfer to secure hospital are identified and transferred in a timely manner. Mental health care will be delivered under the framework of The Care Programme Approach.
