Job summary
This developmental post is an opportunity to undertake a structured and supported learning pathway which will provide skills and competence to work within a busy integrated sexual health environment.
The post holder will be supported to complete training in all aspects of sexual health within a two-year time scale.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for the post holder, as is an enthusiastic approach to learning and development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assess, plan and deliver key aspects of sexual health care depending on the knowledge, skills and experience of the practitioner, and it is expected that care delivery will evolve through learning and development.
Service delivery will include the promotion/issuing of all methods of contraception, screening for sexual transmitted infections (STIs), perform diagnostic procedures and provide treatment and management of STIs in line with BASHH and NICE guidance.

- Provides a confidential, safe environment so patients can discuss any sexual health issues and refer to Specialist Nurses or Health Advisers should complex issues arise.
- Undertakes an assessment for implementing a holistic approach to individual focused care.
