Job summary
Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced sexual health nurse to work within the integrated Sexual Health Service in Shropshire.
The role involves being exposed to sensitive and confidential information it is imperative to ensure that this is dealt with in line with organisational policies and information governance.
The service provision is designed to provide safe, supportive and confidential settings to help clients assess their sexual health needs and make informed choices within a framework of high standards of care. The services are delivered from (to be completed by each area)
Main duties of the job
We are looking for candidates who have the necessary skills and experience to provide sexual health and contraception services to patients in our clinics. Evidence of experience and additional post registration qualifications and/or competences in the speciality must be demonstrated. Most importantly we are looking for someone with a passion for contraception and sexual health, a 'can do' attitude, an ability to work independently and as part of our multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will provide contraception and Genito-urinary care and treatments across sexual health clinics as required.

- To lead and undertake nurseled clinics working alongside nursing colleagues, to ensure continuity of service provision.
- To be responsible for setting high standards of care within the resources available and to review and monitor these on a continuous basis, through the process of audit, to ensure continuing quality of care.
- To assess and deliver contraceptive care as required, including pregnancy testing and contraception provision of all methods, including LARCs.
- To fit and remove sub-dermal implants competently or to work towards this.
- To fit and remove intrauterine devices competently or to work towards this
- To offer pregnancy assessment and support for clients requesting referral for termination of pregnancy.
- To manage and supervise junior staff, including regular 1 to 1 supervision and appraisals as per MPFT policy, sickness absence, performance management, delegation of tasks in clinics, monitor mandatory training compliance etc
